Global Impact Report: Rise in Lives Saved Through Abortion Pill Reversal.

Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) is a global initiative that aims to save the lives of unborn children as well as their mothers. The Abortion PillRescue® Network (APRN), managed by Heartbeat International, released its latest Impact Report during the 2025 Heartbeat International Conference. According to the report, the hotline associated with APR has offered assistance to women in all 50 U.S. states and across 96 countries since its inception.

More than 1,000 healthcare providers, clinics, pharmacies, and pregnancy help organizations worldwide are part of the APRN. A testament to its success is that more than 90% of desperate callers started the APR process in 2024. On average, about 200 desperate calls for help are received by the hotline each month.

Chemical abortions, which account for about 60% of all abortions, involve a two-part chemical process using mifepristone and misoprostol. APR interrupts this process by using progesterone—a recognized method for preventing miscarriage—to halt the effects of mifepristone.

APR and its promotion have been met with pushback from pro-abortion advocates, despite the protocol presenting no harm to the unborn child. In the face of lawsuits and attempts to discredit the process, APRN has remained steadfast, determined to continue offering life-saving options to those in need.

Despite the obstacles faced, the APRN continues to positively impact lives on a global scale. Women who have taken the first step toward a chemical abortion and regret their decision are offered support and advice, while connections to local support organizations are facilitated.

The future for APR seems promising. There is room for growth, and the team is ready to serve any woman in need of their help. The ongoing commitment of all those involved in APR hold the promise of more saved lives.
